The memory entitled Childhood in Howdon and Willington Quay brings back some very happy memories - strange how seeing something like that tugs at the old heart strings. The new integrated bus and Metro interchange opened on 4 August 2019 on Keppel Street - across the road from the original Metro station at King Street - on the site of the former head post office and Royal Mail delivery office.
