They have to watch his movies every Friday to learn new moves to fight with each other. A cop from the future's sent back to contemporary times to track down fugitives hiding in the past. Kurt Sloane must learn the ancient kick boxing art of Muay Thai in order to avenge his brother. Jake Cardigan, a cop who was jailed on trumped charges, is hired... Van Damme doesn't suck at all, he does a great role!!! It's not coincidence that both have extremely competent directors (Peter Hyams and John Woo respectively), who place as much emphases in both movies on creating interesting characters and narratives, as much as spotlighting the expected Van Damme set action pieces.

A woman hires a drifter as her guide through New Orleans in search of her father, who has gone missing. One of my favorite and serious Van Damme's roles in this film. One of my favorite action movie flicks till this days.

Probably Van Damme's last big hit, Timecop is a mix of action, sci-fi, time-travel, and revenge with the usual roundhouse kicking fun. He teaches his son the Shaolin way in a temple.
